Committees

A community’s central business district…its Main Street…often accounts for a significant portion of the town’s jobs and tax base. However, Main Street is more than an economic asset. It is also a community’s crossroad, a place in our hearts and minds that evokes strong emotions and helps define our identity. The Four-Point Approach model was developed by the National Main Street Center which is a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, a leading advocate of historic preservation in the U.S. This model deals with the full spectrum of interrelated issues that affect traditional commercial districts, and has been successful in more than a thousand towns and cityes throughout the country.
