Events

Greenfield Main Street’s events are designed to bring people together to enjoy all the great things Downtown Greenfield has to offer.  From social events, entertainment, learning sessions and more we believe the residents and businesses that call Downtown Greenfield home have something great to offer.  We hope that you can participate as much as possible in our events and help us celebrate the historic, energetic and enjoyable atmosphere of the downtown. Learn more about each of the events we currently have listed below.

NATIONAL ROAD YARD SALE – Saturday, June 2, 2012

WE’RE LOOKING FOR A COMMITTEE CHAIR FOR THIS EVENT.  We will start planning for this event March 1, 2012.

Greenfield Main Street coordinates the sale of booth space in the downtown area for local businesses and residents.  The booth space is on the courthouse lawn and in city parking lots on Main Street.  This give our community the opportunity to be a part of the larger National Road Garage sale that stretches from Baltimore to St. Louis.

PATRIOTIC CHILDREN’S BIKE PARADE –Friday,  July 6, 2012

WE’RE LOOKING FOR A COMMITTEE CHAIR FOR THIS EVENT.  We will start planning for this event April 1, 2012.

Greenfield Main Street celebrates July 4 by welcoming children ages 6 – 12 to show off their decorated bikes.  This will be our second year for this event, and we hope to expand it to include family activities including a picnic, music, and games.

MAIN STREET CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL AND PARADE – Friday December 2 through Sunday December 4, 2011

The Christmas Festival is December 2nd from 5:00 – 9:00 pm: Register for Booth Rental

The Christmas Parade starts promptly at 7:00 pm: Register for the Christmas Parade

Line up will be at 6:00 and the Parade begins promptly at 7:00 pm

Greenfield Main Street celebrates the Christmas season with festivities all around the downtown area.  The evening begins with dinner, continues with the parade, and also includes music, vendors, Santa, and the tree lighting.

Main Street Christmas Festival and Parade

5:00 – 7:00 pm   Dinner at Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen in partnership with Bradley United Methodist Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Greenfield Christian Church.

Admission:  A bag of donated items (canned food, cleaning products, paper products)

5:00 – 9:00 pm   Christmas Shop sponsored by Kemper CPA

Vendors ranging from  snacks to jewelry

6:00 – 7:00 pm   Greenfield Community Choir under the Plaza Gazebo; Live Nativity program by the First Church of God; lighting of the Christmas Tree featuring portrayal of Juliette Low, founder of Girl Scouts in America

7:00 pm  Parade – Grand Marshall Terri Stacy, WIBC Radio Personality

Depot Street – Riley Avenue – Main Street – American Legion Place

7:15 – 9:15 pm   Santa’s House open

8:00 pm  “Inspecting Carol” by Crazy Lake Acting Company at the Ricks Centre for the Arts

Breakfast With Santa and Friends at the American Legion, 275 South Center Street,
Greenfield, Indiana

Greenfield Main Street provides an enchanting morning of breakfast, costumed characters, and,
of course, Santa. This event takes place at the American Legion, and now includes two seatings.

7:30 – 9:30 am 1st Seating

10:30 – 12:30 pm 2nd Seating

Tickets: $10 – Advance purchase encouraged. Available at the Greenfield Area Chamber of
Commerce, One Courthouse Plaza, Greenfield

All attendees will receive a gift bag and adults will be eligible for a doorprize drawing. Come
join us for a morning of festive fun with costumed characters, music, yummy breakfast…and, of
course, a few minutes on the lap of the jolly old elf himself!
